Anywhere we stand on the planet, there is rock somewhere underneath our feet. When I think of the beauty of rock I imagine everything from a majestic mountain to a dazzling precious stone. As with so much in nature, there seems to be no end to the variety of shapes, colours, textures and patterns that exist in stone. I often think of it as a photographer’s smorgasbord.
